okay but real talk i will never forgive the anime crew for making ayato look twenty for the sole reason it takes so much from his character.

he was a child when he was introduced and aogiri abducted kaneki. A CHILD. making him look 20 made it seem like he’s an adult, with full control on his feelings and life, but no, he was a child without a home, probably had to listen to eto and tatara to not be actually homeless, and he was an emotional wreck.

the anime made him look like some adult with no depth whatsoever and it ruined everything about his character??? they even took out his entire fight with kaneki and changed it to a mere exchange of blows and a simple ‘you wanna protect what’s the most important to you’ without even bothering to imply anything about touka being the most important thing to him? he’s a kid with some deeply rooted abandonment issues who’s driven by his fear but nooooo, let’s just make him some annoying mf who wants to see the world burn and eat his sister’s kagune up just because he’s really angry™

it pisses me off a lot because every time i get asked who my favorite character is in tg some anime-only fan will start ranting about how he’s an asshole and i’m weird for liking him. 

ohhhh you have no idea how much i despised the kaneki vs ayato fight because of it

this was the damn most important panel when it comes to ayato, and they couldn’t even do that right. Look at the eyes of that kid, and tell me he doesn’t care.
the anime adaption was okay for me, until the aogiri abduction. that’s not a way to treat characters, smh.
